Pranic Healing in Mandangad
Mandangad sits at the very top of Ratnagiri District, the first taluka reached coming down from Mumbai and Raigad. A two-peaked hill fort watches over the town below, its history older than most records that survive of it, while the land runs hilly and close to the coast — nearer to the Arabian Sea than much of what lies further south.
GEOGRAPHY AND HISTORY
Mandangad’s character comes from its height and its hills — a coastal taluka that doesn’t quite feel coastal, shaped instead by the Sahyadri foothills at its back and 109 villages spread across ridge and valley. The old fort overlooking the town, believed to date to the 12th-century Shilahara dynasty, has watched over this land longer than anyone now living can account for.
The village of Ambavade, birthplace of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, lies within this taluka — a fact many families here carry with quiet, ordinary pride, not as a tourist point but as part of who they are.
A LAND THAT HAS ALWAYS HELD SPACE FOR THE SACRED
Ask anyone in Mandangad and they will tell you where the old places are — not as attractions, but as part of the map they’ve always known. Near Panderi, where the Savitri moves past quietly, sits a cave the village elders have long connected to the Pandavas. In Aasavale, people don’t call their Shiva temple ancient — they call it jaagrut, awake, still listening. Near Mhapral, a temple many hold in the same regard as far more famous tirthkshetras continues to draw quiet devotion, mostly from people who grew up nearby.
The old fort in Mandangad town itself holds this same plurality inside its walls — a Ganapati temple and the shrine of a Muslim saint, standing together, the way this land has long made room for more than one path to the sacred.
This isn’t a discovery for someone arriving from elsewhere. It’s simply how Mandangad has always been.
LIFE AND LIVELIHOOD
Most families across Mandangad’s villages are connected to the land — farming households, small communities, a rhythm of life shaped by season rather than clock. It is this same steadiness that Pranic Healing has found a natural home within.
PRANIC HEALING HERE
Because Mandangad’s villages are spread across hills and distance, Distance Pranic Healing reaches households here in a way in-person visits simply couldn’t. The foundational courses of the Arhatic Yoga Preparatory Program — Achieving Oneness with the Higher Soul, Basic Pranic Healing, and Advanced Pranic Healing — are conducted here in Mandangad, making this taluka a quiet center of both learning and healing.

Pranic Permaculture
Pranic Permaculture™ is a philosophy and practice developed over more than two decades at Moksha.eco, born from the meeting of two established disciplines: Pranic Healing and Permaculture.
Pranic Healing works with Prana — the universal life force or subtle energy that animates all living beings. Permaculture is a globally recognised regenerative design system, built from observing how healthy natural ecosystems function. Pranic Permaculture™ is the conscious relationship between the two: Pranic is how we perceive life. Permaculture is how we participate in life.
It is practised through two complementary dimensions. The Energy Dimension integrates Pranic Healing with meditation, invocation, blessing, and conscious intention, generally following a progression of invocation, energetic assessment, purification, energising, and gratitude. The Land Dimension draws on regenerative ecological design — observing before imposing, listening before directing — moving through observation, assessment, design, restoration, regeneration, and long-term stewardship. Together, these two dimensions are practised as one integrated approach to regenerating people, place, and the living world.
